Seacoast Win and First Home Game

Saturday October 5th Seacoast took on the Upper Valley Valkyries in a tightly contested match in Lebanon. Seacoast trailed at the half with a score of 10-24, answering the 4 Upper Valley tries with two of their own. Upper Valley scored again early in the second half, but Seacoast answered. The two teams traded tries again before Seacoast took control of the game, and put in another two tries, both carried by Amber Nault.

Regulation time expired with Seacoast down 4 points and a score of 30-34. But the team was able to maintain possession and avoid mistakes for several more phases, finally swinging it out to Stacy Woodley on the wing who scored the final try in the game. Laney Payne completed the conversion, yielding a final score of 37-34 with Seacoast victorious.

This coming weekend will see Seacoast take on old friends and rivals Amoskeag at home. The game will be at 33 Hobbs Road in North Hampton, NH, kicking off at 11 AM. Bring your friends, your children, your cooler and chair, for a morning of rugby in our own backyard. Parking is available along Hobbs Road and at the United Church of Christ at the corner (please leave the first couple of spaces for church business). We hope to see you there!

Spring Season!

Seacoast rugby has recently completed our inaugural season with the new team. We played Charles River B Side on May 4th 2019. With very little team practice ahead of the match we had to work out how to run as a team on the fly, but put together a resounding 32-7 win. Two weeks later we took on Portland at their home pitch at Kennedy Park. After a scrappy game the final score was 32-22 to Portland. We’re looking forward to some fun sevens tournaments this summer, and full fifteens in the fall.
